An error occurred while saving the comment Jeff Kane commentedGreat stuff. This is another reason why we currently have to use a separate back end system. Integration could lead toward a single system for us, which would be great.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jeff Kane commentedLee, that sounds like a good idea. When we run out of a product in a certain size and colour, we can usually still obtain it and many customers still expect to be able to buy and wait. We therefore have to leave them at -1, but then we get other customers saying that we didn't advise them it was out of stock so that they could decide what to do. The way we solve this in our back end system is to use negative numbers, so if someone orders 3 and we only have 1, the stock goes to -2. This works well because when we receive some more in, we can add the quantity received and get back to the true stock figure. However, this won't work in EWS because -1 already has a meaning (ie always in stock). Your Yes/No field would certainly help.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jeff Kane commentedWe too get customers who put no telephone number and then mess up their email address. I've often had to guess what the email address should be. A confirmation would certainly help, and I think preventing the copy/paste thing is a good idea, as otherwise the benefit of the exercise may be lost.

Currently in progress including partial dispatch.
An error occurred while saving the comment Jeff Kane commentedYup - 18 months ago we actually moved to operating a separate back end system to cover for the fact that we couldn't do this in EWS. Customers otherwise had to cancel an order and get a refund, then place another order, just so they could change one item! Otherwise we had to accept that what we'd actually supplied was not the same as what EWS thought we'd supplied. Neither way was acceptable to us. If this gets integrated into EWS we may be able to move back to using just EWS again. :D
With the VAT rate changing, this is particularly in our minds right now. But regular annual price increases could be made much simpler this way (we have about 300 products to update).
