Ask for confirmation of email address when an order is taken
Ask customer to re-enter email address to minimise chance of customer error.

There is nothing that I find more annoying when signing up to sites or ordering items online than to be forced to enter my email address twice... but then again I make sure I get it right the first time.
Probably a good idea to get people to enter it twice, but I wouldn't prevent copy/paste for those of us that know what we're doing ;)

We too get customers who put no telephone number and then mess up their email address. I've often had to guess what the email address should be. A confirmation would certainly help, and I think preventing the copy/paste thing is a good idea, as otherwise the benefit of the exercise may be lost.

Please can this be done sooner than later
We have had quite a few where they have entered their email address incorrectly, and not put a phone no.
not just that if the customer is from abroad, you don't want to be calling them up if you don't have to

The email address is very important for email shipping conformation, many times we have no telephone number added to orders and the email is the only way to get in contact with the customer if we have problems.

Yes please, I know it may annoy a customer, but will help prevent submission errors.
This way they are sure to receive the order confirmation email, & we can get in touch properly if there is an issue with their order. -
Any comments on this? Would this help, should the box not allow the address to be pasted in - forcing it to be re-entered, feedback would be welcome.
